Privacy Policy

This policy is short because there is very little to describe. The MeoWeo tools do their work inside your browser: your files are opened, edited and saved by code running on your own machine, and none of them is ever sent anywhere.

1. Who is responsible

The publisher of this site is the data controller for this site and for the tool suites at audio.meoweo.com and pdf.meoweo.com. The publishing regime and the host are set out on the Legal Notice page. For any privacy question or request, write to support@meoweo.com, which is the contact point for exercising every right described below.

2. Your files are never uploaded

When you open an audio file or a PDF in one of the tools, the browser reads it from your disk into the memory of that tab. Every operation - cutting, encoding, merging, compressing, setting a password - runs there, and the result is written back to your downloads folder by the browser itself. There is no server to send a file to: the whole product is static files and WebAssembly. Close the tab and nothing of the file remains.

That is a consequence of how the tools are built, not a promise about how we behave. It also means we cannot recover anything for you: if a tab closes mid-edit, the work is gone.

3. What we do not collect

• No account. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to store.
• No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting.
• No cookie of any kind - which is why there is no cookie banner. If you were expecting one, its absence here means there is nothing to consent to, not that the question was skipped.
• No third-party request. Both typefaces are served from our own domain rather than from a font service, so loading a page contacts nobody but the host named below.

4. What is stored on your device

The audio suite keeps three settings in your browser's local storage, all of them about the preview player: its listening volume, whether it is muted, and whether its volume fader is shown or folded away. They are preferences you set yourself, so that they survive a reload. Nothing else is stored: the PDF tools keep nothing at all, and neither suite writes a file, a document or anything drawn from one to your device beyond what you download yourself.

Those three values never leave your device, identify nobody, and under the CNIL's guidance require no consent. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

5. What the host sees

The sites are served by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States. Like any web host, it processes technical connection data - IP address, time of request, page requested, browser user agent - to deliver the page and to defend against attacks. We do not receive, query or store that data, and it is not linked to anything else, because there is nothing else to link it to. Cloudflare acts as our processor under a data processing agreement. For transfers to the United States it relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, with the Swiss and UK extensions, and its agreement also carries the European Commission's standard contractual clauses as a second basis.

6. If you write to us

Email sent to support@meoweo.com reaches a mailbox we read. Your address and whatever you put in the message are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you, and kept only as long as the exchange needs. This is the only personal data we hold on purpose.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, a restriction of its processing, its portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest (articles 15 to 21). In practice this concerns the support mailbox, since it is the only place we hold anything. Write to support@meoweo.com and we will answer within one month.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.

8. Children

The tools are not directed at children and collect nothing that would let us know a visitor's age. No account exists, so none can be created by anyone.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Because we hold no contact details for visitors, there is no way to notify you individually.
