Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of this site and of the tool suites at audio.meoweo.com and pdf.meoweo.com (together, "the tools"). The publisher of this site is identified on the Legal Notice page. Using the tools means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the tools.

1. What the tools are

Free software that runs in your browser. There is no account, no subscription, no payment and no support commitment. We may change, suspend or withdraw any tool at any time, including permanently, without notice and without owing you anything.

2. Your files stay yours

We claim no right over anything you open in the tools. Nothing is uploaded, so we never receive your files in the first place; see the Privacy Policy.

3. What you are responsible for

You must have the right to process the files you open, and you agree not to use the tools:

• on content you have no right to copy, modify or distribute;
• to remove a password or any protection from a document you are not authorised to open - the password tools exist for your own documents;
• to produce content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• to attack, overload or interfere with the sites, or with anyone else's use of them.

Because the tools run entirely on your machine, we have no technical means of seeing what you process and no way of intervening. Compliance is yours alone, and so is the liability.

4. No warranty

The tools are provided "as is" and "as available", to the fullest extent permitted by law, without warranty of any kind: no warranty that they will be available, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and no warranty about the quality or correctness of what they produce. File processing can fail, and a browser tab can close. Keep your own copy of anything you care about before you open it here.

5. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the tools, including lost, corrupted or unrecoverable files, lost time, or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under French law, in particular for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

6. Third-party software

The tools bundle open-source components, each belonging to its own authors and used under its own licence. Every suite lists them in full at /THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt, reachable from the menu at the bottom of its sidebar. Those licences govern those components; these terms do not override them.

7. Intellectual property

The MeoWeo name, the mark and the content of these sites remain ours. Using the tools grants you no right to either, beyond viewing the pages and running the tools as intended.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page is the date of the version in force. Continuing to use the tools after a change means accepting the new version.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute falls to the competent French courts. As the tools are free of charge, no consumer sale takes place and the consumer mediation and online dispute resolution routes for paid services do not apply.
